SustainablePrint.org's Knowledgebase is a place for Graphic Designers, Printers, and anyone with knowledge about sustainable print design to share that knowledge. The hope is that the SustainablePrint.org Knowledgebase will make it easier for anyone producing print materials to make environmentally-friendly choices. Right now, the knowledgebase is just getting started, so please don't hesitate to share what you know about issues that relate to Sustainable Print Design by clicking "edit" at the top of any page (except this one :). If you have any questions about submission, please review the Submission Guidelines - and please play around in the sandbox to get comfortable with editing pages.

Things Impacted by Print Design

Print Design projects impact our world's water, air, cultures, and individuals.

Factors

The environmental impact of a print project is affected by the raw materials used to produce the project, the manufacturing processes behind those materials and the project itself, the transportation of materials involved in the project, the use of the final product, and the disposal of the final product.

Techniques for reducing a project's environmental impact

The environmental impact of a project can be affected by reducing the amount of materials required for production, selection of materials involved in the project, the distribution of the final product, and the labor involved in producing the project.

Project Life Cycle

These are the steps of a project's life cycle that a designer can have influence over.
